Jack Pads on R56 Mini Hardtop

I' m autocrossing a 2012 Mini Hardtop. My car does not have the jack pads on it. I bought 4 jack pads and was going to install them just to make it easier to change from street tires to my Hankook tires.

I was told that it was possibly a safety hazard to have them installed.

What is the real opinion and rule?????

Thanks
Craig

Craig, They used to fall off on course sometimes. I am not aware of any rule applied to that problem however. I am also hoping that the mounting has been improved in later years. I had the issue with an R53, and it was a few years ago that folks were experiencing the "flying Mini jack pad" challenge. I'd inquire, and if you get feedback indicating they are now better connected to the car I would not fuss at all.

Cheers,

Charlie
