Interim Coilover Thoughts

I'm pretty sure the rear driver side strut is starting to go out since I'm starting to rub when I hit a big bump. Unfortunately I can't swing the full upgrade I'd like, but since I also can't be 100% that the others aren't about to start going out as well I'd like to upgrade at least some extent. So here's what I'm looking at, thoughts? I get the swift &/or custom valving will work better than others, just looking for opinions if it'd be worth it. I mostly do daily driving with some sport driving in hills/on interstate.

Any of these will work fine. If I remember correctly, you were planning on Ohlins next year maybe? I'd just do the Megans if you're thinking you'll use them for only a year. Least expensive, do an ok job, plenty of adjustment. Plus they sell fairly fast on the marketplace.

I was, but that was when I was going to get the iPE this year. After my wife's 180 and wanting to get $5,000 in appliances this year instead of next year it all got pushed. And after some discussions we'll see in the end since I won't track like many here do. At least not for several years since the kids are too young. :p

There are a set of H&R street coil overs on the marketplace for $800, also a set of FSD's for $400 if you want to keep it simple. There are also normally guys selling used OEM stuff there.

If it was me, I would keep saving for the high end coil overs and put the minimum into the car for a year. You may be frustrated with $1000 coil overs.........

Have fun,
Mike

My recommendation would be to replace the broken parts you have now and save for the coilover setup that you really want. Here's the thing about cheap coilovers: they don't last--particularly the shocks. You'll just end up in the same boat you are in now in 6 months if you try to compromise on the dampeners.
