R50/53 Ebay Roof Rack (Searched but didn't find anything)
Ebay Roof Rack (Searched but didn't find anything)
Hey everyone, I am new here. I recently purchased an 04 MCS and crazy happy so far. I come from a background of heavily modded Hondas, Acuras & VWs and lots of SCCA fun. Then, my wife got pregnant and all the toys had to go. My new job requires a long 3 hour round trip drive, so having something I enjoy driving was a requirement. Out with the Lexus and in with the Mini.
Anywho - It came with Magnaflow exhaust which has a great tone, and will be working on the suspension next but I am in need of a rack for my Cannondale Super Six. Yes, I know the name brands are out there and have options, but the more I spend on a rack, then less I have for suspension.
I came across this rack on ebay wanted to see if anyone knows anything about them or has input. http://goo.gl/4QSIz4
Thanks in advance

Your link is to what appears to be your standard foot and rail setup. Will the bike carrier your considering attach to these rails?
The issue with any after market system that does not use factory mount points is they will eventually damage the clear coat / paint. You should consider using patches of clear bra or similar underneath the feet. You should be able to get scrap material for free from your local installer.
Another option to consider is the Saris Bones RS hatch rack. Again be aware of clear coat damage, but this rack served me well for 8 years.
There is another thread here where I posted photos of the rack on the back of my R53.

Thanks for the reply. That is a great idea for the clear bra. I actually work in the 12Volt industry and a lot of my retailer install clear bras, so I have a couple rolls in my garage. I have a thule rack on my truck right now. I only ever use 1 carrier, so I figured I would keep one on the truck and one on the MCS. Thoughts on the Thule fork mount on these rails?
