July/August 2004 Delivery (Beware It's a long one)
In early May 2004, i placed my order and put down my down payment with Mini Peabody. I told the dealer specifically that I wanted a 2005 Dark silver Mini Cooper S with navigation, fogs, xenon, and cold pack.
I got a call in early june from my dealer saying that my order had been placed and that my car was in production. At first i was super excited, but based on reading up on the car...i knew that 2005 cars weren't to be in production until July 04. Therefore, i called the dealer to double check on the year of the car that he had ordered. Thank goodness for that because he had placed the order for a 2004 mini cooper s. When i told him to cancel that order he asked me "WHY!?..what's the difference...blah blah blah"
I was so annoyed, but decided alright he messed this up...he couldn't possibly mess it up again!
Well today i finally got a call from the financial manager at Mini Peabody to find out that my 2005 Cooper s is going to be here next week!!!! I was absolutely ecstatic!
I was going over some information with her to make sure that everything was going good. (She was really nice and helpful.) We were going over some numbers...when i realized that it was a lot less than i had expected, which was odd be cause the price should have slightly gone up!
I realized that my navigation system was not included, so i asked her to find out what was going on. Later today I got a call from my dealer saying that the navigation had been accidentally left out.
I then asked what my options were and he said, "I can order you a new car and you will get it in september." I was so irritated that i got off the phone with him. I then called back and he explained how HE had messed it up and said (word for word) "It was my mistake!" But next he says the only thing you can do if you don't want this car is to order a new one that you'll get in september..that's it! WHAT THE HECK!!!
I have to wait for ANOTHER 2 months because this schmuck messed up!?!?!
Well this issue has not been resolved yet...i am going to speak to the manager on monday. I just wanted to air this out...if you go on to www.motoringfile.com there's a report about how mini's customer service rates very poorly...well i'm not surprised.
