This kid I know with a speed3 was telling me about how his tuner is recommending for him to get one for his intake. Something about better a/f ratios with this little piece installed inside his MAF sensor. Anyone able to shed light on this? Not sure if this is BS or actually beneficial when tuning.

Made me think of that "tornado air" thing that I used to see advertised on TV and magazines... Lol

It's good that you thought of it along the lines of that tornado air spinning device, and others like it. It's another trend. Years ago the spin thing was a small craze, lots of people were trying them out. Now there's this, which, as opposed to spinning purposes that it un-spins the air. Ultimately it's like putting a catalytic converter on the wrong side of your air system... which wouldn't be bad (on a forced induction engine) if someone formulated a cat that generated more oxygen as air goes through... lol

Snake oil. Another one of those gimicks it's best to avoid.

I bet a turbo will mix that air up...
But the catylitic converter...a HONEYCOMB, will straighten it back out...lol...folks YANK those out to reduce back pressure....hmmm.....
Maybe you should buy a tornado as mentioned.....pre-swirl the air.....lol....
