I'm planning on doing my FCABs @ pit row DIY in Santa Clara (along with my sway bar bushings, power steering hose replacement)


I have never lowered the entire subframe before.


If anyone has experience lowering the entire subframe and wants to give me a hand I'll gladly compensate with food & beer!


I would do the cut off method but I got the Super Pro bushings which look like a press in press out would be mandatory.

 

Ahh. LCA Bushings, fun! I wish I were in your state. Our local mini guru taught me that it's easier to take the subframe, ps pump and steering rack out as one piece, as opposed to separating the subframe from the ps pump. There's some wires to the pump, but then he just unhooked the ps reservoir from the firewall, took the bolt out of the end of the steering column, undo tie-rod ends, and the bolts holding the steering rack to the firewall.
