HELP-DSC light won't turn off

So my DSC light came on today. I know I bumped the switch last night when I was fiddling around with some stuff in the car, but I noticed today that the light won't go out whether I push the switch up or press it down. How are you supposed to get the light to go out? And if there actually is something wrong with my DSC, what can I expect when I go to the mechanic? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I should probably mention that it's the only light on, it's not in addition to the brake light or anything. Ugh, this is my first car so I'm probably freaking out more than I should be, I hope.

Just went out to check it again, and the DSC light went off but my service engine light came on?

Just a thought : how old is your battery? The mini's electrical system is really odd and quite prone to issues when the battery is dead/dying.

Not saying it's your issue but DSC and check engine light should not be related. Do you know anyone who has a code reader? That would tell us a lot...

Sorry, I should have posted this as soon as I got back. I was able to find someone open with a code reader and the two lights were unrelated, my SES was due to the camshaft position sensor. I was just worried it was going to be something electrical since all of a sudden I had multiple warning lights that had nothing to do with each other but didn't readily see anything wrong with my car or its performance. I haven't had any issues before and she was just serviced so I thought it was weird. Thanks for the quick reply though.

I've observed at least on my car that the DSC light will go on if there are certain pending error codes. I know I've gotten that to come on for pending misfires codes.
