Ahh the boot latch problem......this has happened to several people I know recently. They all took theirs in to be fixed at the dealership......but there may be another way that I don't know about. I just know that they needed service to get it fixed....

yes, a common problem. seems to happen more often if i use the 'press and hold' on the remote to pop the boot.

quick solution - try pressing the button under the boot handle (just above the license plate). this should reset the latch and allow it to close. or try unlocking/locking the doors to reset the latch.

i personally never use the 'press and hold' on the remote anymore and don't have any problems...

good luck

The quickest fix I've found when the problem has arisen from the 'press and hold' feature is to lock and then unlock all the doors with the key fob. Sometimes, just doing the double-click unlock is sufficient. Just a few quick squeezes and it's better - until next time!

I was at the dealer yesterday and tried to change the press and hold option from windows and sunroof to the rear hatch. When I tried it, it would not close. After tinkering with it to no effect, the dealer shrugged and reset it to windows and sunroof. Oh well, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I DID succeed in ending the annoying auto locking feature though!
