CV Juice Everywhere

Sorry for the noob question here, but I'm a new mini owner. Just noticed that the passenger side CV boot has separated at the clamp. I seem to have CV juice all over the place, but how do I know if I need to replace the entire shaft assembly? Or can I just repack the joint and replace the boot?

You can repack it. A boot with new clamps and grease will cost you 20 to 30 bucks. If you do the labor.

If you catch it fast....you might get away with cleaning and repacking it...
But if you drove it a bit...sand and grit can get into it, and it WILL fail....
If it looks pretty clean and is still greasy under the boot, might be worth trying...
But depends how much you value your time and your $$ if you diy it...
Some just replace it once...and e done with it, rather than MAYBE doing it again in a few weeks/days...

Order a new boot for it....the kits come with the grease and clamps you need. It's pretty easy to do if you have some simple hand tools. The hardest part is getting the c-clamp off of the end of the CV shaft so you can pull the bearing assembly off the end and install the new boot....and that's actually pretty easy
