R50/53 Das Boat?
Just found out from ASK MINI that my Cooper has been manufactured and I am #182 which according to them means I am on a train to the docks. How have you all found out what boat you end up on? And then I know how I have seen a thread on how to track that boat. Can anybody help me out please. I know it will be a long wait here in Colorado but I am hoping for a December delivery, beats the February one I was originally told. Guess I better start lookling for snow tires since I have the 16 run flats ordered. This board is such a gift, it will be even more fun and interesting when I actually have a car to talk about. Who else is in Colorado, looking forward to an event.

Here is the URL for the boat tracking:

As for the boat name, you will need to contact 866-ASK-MINI and they can give you the name of the boat.
You luck dog!!!!!

I hope that this is still valid. I posted it back in July:
Go to http://www.wlna.com
Click on Global Web Site up in the top right
Click on cargo tracking (left side)
Click on Auto. Enter the last 7 digits of your VIN, hit enter
That should give you the info
Then (again copied, and pasted)
You can go to http://www.oceanweather.com and track it from there. Go to Current Marine Data in the bottom right. Click on where you think your ship is, and track it with the Marine Observations view. AIDA (Which I thought originally was mine) appears by it's call sign SCFI.
If you don't see it, check back in a few hours.
For the call sign:
You can get the call sign here: http://psix.uscg.mil/psix2/vesselsearch.asp
Your ship may or may not show up! Reason for this is:
Where do the ship observations come from?
Ships that are part of the VOS (Voluntary Observing Ship) program report weather in realtime and this information is forwarded to weather centers around the globe. The NOAA VOS page http://www.vos.noaa.gov/wmo.html gives more information.
So, if your ship doesn't participate, chances are you won't see it. A ship such as AIDA participates and shows up MOST times but not all. If you don't see your ship, try again in a few hours. It may have not reported earlier.
The OceanWeather FAQ's are where I got that from.
