R50/53 Mini ATM machine
Mini ATM machine
Hello everybody I recently had my mini breakdown in disaster, ive drove over 130k miles and ive recently had my clutch redone and a cable snapped that allowed my car to shift, other than that I take really good care of the car. The car started making this ticking noise when I accelerated thought it was no big deal so I started driving home when BOOM! White smoke deployed smelt like a burnt clutch and black fluid was leaking from the front right side of my car. Came back 2 days later to inspect and it turns on, just a loud ticking noise coming from the engine. Any ideas? The guy who put my clutch on said my tranny sounded noisy. Just trying to get an idea of what my problem could be before I send it off to my mechanic who probably will tell me its a million different things.
Edit: The white smoke came from my hood

Guessing the timing chain tensioner failed...tick..tick...tick...what year car...you have gen1 AND gen2 threads...very different cars, different issues...
Then the chain jumped or broke..valves crushed.....
Could be similar story for a vacuum pump if a gen2 car.....with the gears failing.. Granading the motor...
Hate to say...sounds major. I am NOT a gen2 expert (you seem to have a similar post in gen1 and gen2 sections), but ticking, followed by no running and oil leaking with smoke are a VERY BAD COMBO....
I'd bet $$ that motor is toast. Just a guess....from far away with limited Info...so it is with what it cost you!! Good luck!! Be sure to post a follow-up!!
