Ok guys, everyone headsup i am a newie to this ..I have mcs with alta 15%pulley,alta intake, alta exhaust, and oil catch can . looking to remap but ineed info. anyone has info on john conforti shark injector or any other brands pros and cons . do not suggest powerchip. too much negative feedback, and i seems powerchip did not step up to make things right..ok guys flood me with info..
I Love my unichip and I highly reccomend it.... the pulley gives you some good power, but the unichip steps it up a whole nuther notch. Pulls hard to red line (and beyond if that rev limiter werent there). The way it seems to some up is this: want a cheap price and settle for minimal gains go for the AmD over the Shark... only a few more bucks but better things are said.... if you want performance go for the unichip which is almost double the price.
so far, i agree with what JCampos said, but i myself am waiting for the GIAC software to come out, just because of the reputation it has in other automotive arenas. also the Dinan software just came out at only $299, and will be staged too. (1,2,3, etc.) i'm gonna wait a little longer personally.
Here is some information that I put together on the chips, but I don't have the Unichip or the Dinan on the site yet. (http://szweda.com/mini/ECU.htm)
I wouldn't hold your breath on the GIAC. Who knows when it will ever come to market. There doesn't seem to be too much of a push to get it to market. I know that peopel will yell at me for this statement, but if GIAC can get the R32 chip to market with multiple maps two months after the car is delivered to the US market, then this shows there is an obvious lack of urgency to this project.
There seems to be a real lack of testing on the chips and your guess is as good as anyone elses. No one has really tested these side by side and examined all of the attributes (not just hp, which everyone seems obsessed with on the chips). We have seen graphs of the Unichip making 10hp and others with a loss in power. So it is really up in the air. The Unichip is the latest and greatest from Webbmotorsports, so everyone is clamouring onto that bandwagon right now.
