R50/53 Latest News on 2003 Options?
Just got back from taking my list of options to the Dealer (Long Beach MINI); for what I "thought" was going to be a December build (turns out, it may be a February or March build; darn it).
However, while I was there, they had a list entitled "2003 Options". Most of the items were the one's we're all aware of (Indi Blue, HK radio). But there WERE several that at least I had never heard of:
1. Black bumper inserts
2. Sport steering wheel
3. Aluminum pedals
4. DVD Nav ("will be a price increase TBD"
I might have heard some reference before to 1&2. Item 4 has now been delayed until at least March, with the cryptic note on TBD price increase. And the aluminum pedals I had not heard of anywhere.
Enjoy!

I hadn't heard about #1. Interesting. I like my chrome inserts, but with Molly's color combo, I can't help but wonder how that would look - especially if they are glossy black - and if I could get the other trim pieces to all be glossy black, that would be SHARP!
I had heard about 2 and 4, but not 3 either. ....Probably not worth it for a CVT anyhow.

I hope it wasn't. I know most people don't like it too much, but I think it's better than all that plastic.
I asked the forum a while ago about it, and though I didn't get many responses, most said they're dealer just hadn't heard about it yet, so it was probably not sheduelled for the near future.

Found this in an earlier thread doing a search for 'wood trim':

They took it off the options list globally late last year - no more factory wood for now.
