R50/53 Mini-racer
Mini-racer
So I'm at work and I get a surprise from a friend from Germany who just got into town. The box reads "MINI-RACER". I look at it more carefully and find out it's a MINI Cooper R/C car controlled by a watch. Has anyone already seen this? It is truely cool.
I quickly opened it up and put the 2-AA batteries in and turn it on. I see on the back of the watch a plastic tab to start the batteries in it and pull. I put it on the ground and it did nothing. A little disappointed I look at the manual and it said there's a start button. All right! After I press it, the car starts, I mean you hear the engine running. Then I press up, down, left, right, and it is cruising.
Every time you go forward the headlights come on and backwards, the taillights come on. When you stop, the tires squeal, apparently the ABS was disabled
. Then I find the horn, you guessed it. wow!
After a few minutes, I figure I should get back to work. So I turn it off, with the button and the engine stops. Then I press the alarm, it makes a little squack. And I go to put it away when the alarm goes off, because I opened the door. What?!? Excellent! so I hit the alarm button again to disable it and then set it again and When I picked it up, that's right! the alarm goes off.
Well, all I can say is, if you find one get it. It is excellent. The package was in German but I think you should be able to find it somewhere. It is a 2001 so it still has a couple rattles in the boot and sqeeking in the dash and a mild stumble with the AC on.
Here's a link I found, but they are out of stock

I forgot to mention that it comes with a second chassis so when you just want to play with it not as a R/C car, you just put the free rolling wheels which also come with an interior detail.
