30000-mile service

My 2011 R56 MANUAL just hit it. Just did brakes, battery and cabin air filter.

What other kinds of maintenance should do at this point? Any other filters, belts, sensors, or pumps that need replacing?

Anybody? Do we not care about preventive maintenance in this forum?

Depending on the year of your car, and mods you may need:

Carbon cleaning (especially N14 engines)
Spark plugs (if you have a JCW or a tune, if not 50k)
Trans fluid change (some do it at 30k, others wait)
Depending on the year of the car, check for any sign of oil leaking at the turbo oil line where it attaches to the housing.

Make sure that you keep an eye out for leaks. Coolant or oil.

Have fun,
Mike

Thanks mbwicz!

How much did carbon cleaning cost you? I'm guessing only BMW provides walnut blasting, right?

Were you refering to the CVT transmission fluid?

How about belts?

There are threads on here how to buy the tools and do this yourself, if you want.

My dealer charged me about $300 to blast the ports.

The only belt is serpentine for the accessories. I would inspect it for any cracking.

Trans fluid would either be for automatic or manual. CVT was in the 1st gen cars only. Search some threads here to get opinions. My auto seems to shift more consistently after changing fluid this spring.

Have fun,
Mike

You did the brakes at 30,000 miles? Mine OBC still show 26k for the fronts and 34k for the rears....
