Greetings all.

Has anyone tried this product or know someone who has?

In one of their many videos, the company "claims" this product (made of aluminum) actually acts as a "heat sink" thereby reducing heat on the calipers. This of course is a supposed added benefit, since the real reason anyone would buy these is purely aesthetic.

However, my concern is mostly giving MINI a reason to void or not cover the free maintenance for the 1st 36k for my brakes. My second concern of course, is safety ... having one of these things fly off could do major damage to the vehicle not to mention possible serious injury.

Any thoughts on this product?

Regards,
David

What a scientific test fail of course the cover is going to be cooler than the caliper.

I wonder why they never measured the temp of the rotor or made the effort to see to try and measure the temp under that cover.

It's comically funny that they disabled the comments

I would avoid caliper covers. I don't believe they provide any advantage. The calipers can be painted if you are seeking a new brake look. I would paint before attaching a cover.

I never realized this. That's sneaky in my book and a deal breaker. If you have nothing to hide, why block comments from viewers.

Good catch!!

Get the brush paint kit if you don't want to remove them and spray them, but don't get a cover.

I had these on my Dodge Magnum a few years back. They worked fine with no issues.
