R52 tire change kit
tire change kit
I got my first 2005 mini cooper S vert a couple weeks back and im working my way around the car doing light mods, sound proofing, etc... Did I mention how much I LOVE driving this thing?
So ya.. I drive it pretty hard and the black baggy tire change kit keeps flopping around in the boot. I see that it has two hooks on it but I cant seem to find the right place to secure it. Is there a specific place for this little black bag with a jack and tire iron in it? the manual just says "luggage compartment"
thanks

On the left side of the boot, front wall and rear, there are two metal loops. Those are where the hooks on the tool kit go. An alternative is this:

besides having the solution of having to jack up a corner in the first place, you can carry a few other handy things like cleaning supplies and an extra qt. of oil is you so desire.
If you haven't already, also acquire a wind deflector (R52 specific, you'll have to hunt for one of those) and a LightInSight. Keep the canvas in good condition with either Ragg Topp of 303.
PS, there should also be a small tool kit in a styrofoam box crammed down next to the batter.

thanks for the lead. I saw the loops under the rear seat backs but I didnt feel around on the rear bumper side for the other two loops. I was trying to hook it up left to right. It fits great front to back! lol
that lightnsight is really awesome. I was getting a crick in my neck from leaning over to see the lights. haha. And Ill be sure to get the ragg top. Good stuff.
TYVM!!
