Bike Rack/Rear Mount

We got my wife a beach cruiser this weekend and now we need to get her a bike rack. I won't be with her all the time so we need a very easy rack to laid a bike on. My wife is vertically challenged as well as a disabled combat veteran with bad knees (6 surgeries ) due to a vehicle rollover in Afghanistan.

We want to try this as a form of physical therapy as nothing else seems to work. She will need a rack that is very easy to load a bike on. I've seen the rear mount but at $600 that's a lot. But if it helps get her mobility back we'll do.

Any thoughts or ideas to help my combat veteran wife?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I got the bike rack from MINI. Since it is at bumper height, it should be relatively easy to load and unload a bike.
You will need to be able to get the bike about 12" off of the ground.

$600 for a bike rack is way over the top unless you are carrying multiple bikes a lot. I'd go to a local shop and try a few of the strap on the back hatch ones and see if those will work. We have one that we use on our VW which works well and was less than $100. I don't have access to it now, but my wife who doesn't have the upper body strength can get the bikes on pretty easily.

Great minds think alike plus it's actually a good bike rack we use it all the time to haul bikes on different cars
