I have never posted anything before so I am hoping that I do this correctly. I have tried googling my question and am having no luck.

I have an armrest in my 2005 Mini. I had it installed when I bought the Mini new in 2005 from the dealer.

I am now trading this car in for a 2009. The 2009 doesn't have an armrest. When I just look at it, it seems like the armrest would fit in the 2009 also. This page lists this as an armrest for 2007 and up but I had mine in 2005. I'm not sure if it is exactly the same or not.

I just was wondering if 1). could I (or my dad) remove my armrest from the cupholder without special tools and 2) will it fit in the 2009?

a) anything is possible with enough effort and skill. How much effort is required in this case? I dunno . . .


b) Looking at Way's site I see this arm rest is offered for GEN1 and GEN2 ... they have different part numbers and different prices . . .

the pictures look a little different .... but the dimensions are the same .... one shows the mount base, the other does not so can't tell if they are different ....


you could try calling WAY and ask .... if he has both maybe he'd be willing to compare 'em


or ask MINIFINI .. but curiously they don't show this product on their web page ....

 

If you determine it won't fit your 09 I am looking for an armrest for my 07 and would be interested in it.
