I'm looking at the standard Pipercross induction kit for the Cooper, and was looking for opinions on performance (foam vs. oiled cotton filtering, etc.). Also, is this filter full foam, or is the foam just a pre-filter? I ask since the Viper kit seems about the same size as the foam around the standard kit, so I wonder if there's a different filter inside.

Finally, has anyone managed to craft a DIY heatshield for this setup? (not resorting to the $$ Viper kit)
