New bump stops for new springs?

After doing some research on lowering springs I kept coming across people talking about replacing the bump stops with ones made for lowered minis or they mentioned cutting the stock ones ? I'm going with the h&r sport springs which will only drop my r50 1 inch in the front and 3/4 in the rear.
Can someone please tell me if the shorter bump stops really needed or is it plausible to cut the old ones or will the stock ones still work ok.
Thanks

Search for Mod Mini on Youtube and watch the Performance Coilover Install "MINI Cooper 2002 2006" and you can see what Corners does to cut the bump stops and why.

I watched the video . Thanks .
So basically what he said was if I'm lowering the car 1 inch then I need to cut off 1 inch from the bump stop. Does that sound correct?
Thanks so much .

Yup, but the key thing is, keep the off cuts in case you ever go back to stock

By cutting the Bump Stop, your allowing the shock to travel its full length or as close as possible before it bottoms out, hence the Bump Stop.

Mod Mini is the member called Corners on this forum and I have had some informative conversations with him in regards to my R50 and if you watch the rest of his How To videos, I think you will find them very informative.

Awesome ! Thanks so much for the great info. I'm just making sure I get all my ducks in a row when I lower my r50.
I've got the springs , the cravenspeed strut tower defenders and my rear adjustable control arms. I'm also gonna have a alighnment done right after it's lowered .
How much camber should I be running in the rear since I have adjustment now?

No idea on the camber but Corners would be a good source to ask, I'm still running stock at the moment but shopping around for FSD's as parts in Australia are rather expensive and not a lot of sources to purchase from for Mini specific. I'm looking to take the harshness out of my ride running 17" 205x40xZR17 tyres.

You are better off buying bump stops for lowered cars. check way motorworks - he sells them. Probably easier than trying to be precise with your cutting
