Hello all, first time poster here,


So I purchased my Mini in February and have been happy with it so far. I put in a CAI a few days ago and noticed that it was missing its filter in the air box 😣 I know I should have looked it over a bit more thoroughly when I bought it but I was excited lol. My question is whether there would be any adverse effects from running the car a few months like that?

 

i would get one on and do a used oil analysis to see what kind of crap is in there. flush the fluid obviously as you collect the sample. the oil will probably contain a lot more silica and crap, and possibly more wear metals as well. probably nothing noticeable, just increased wear and tear.. but it depends on how bad

 

Inspect the intake system, throttle body might have a bunch of dirt in it depending on the climate and where you live. Clean the throttle body and as much as the intake. Check and change oil. I would also inspect that MINI and the engine. If you were missing an air filter , what else was missed?
