I just purchased my first Mini Cooper - a green Cooper S - and noticed it has an extra set of exhaust pipes mounted in the mesh grate above the standard center mounted tail pipes. The extra pipes are a smaller diameter and space farther apart than the double barrel exhaust pipe down below.

Can anyone tell me what purpose the additional pipes might serve. They seem to be factory made verses some weekend warrior project. Are they related to the turbo charger?

And if this is a 1st Gen R53, then you have a super charger, not turbo.

They can be used with this, those small exhaust pipe connections are for connection of the bike rack or other items that fit that double port connection.
