Compression test results, opinions?

Performed a compression test last night. Just a single pulse per, probably should have tested a couple times.

Cyl #1: 140 psi
Cyl #2: 140 psi
Cyl #3: 145 psi
Cyl #4: 155 psi

Car has 143k miles. Plugs looked good and from what I could see down the spark plug tube cylinders looked pretty good. I'd say from what I've read on here my compression results are pretty good. Opinions?

Depends on the type of car.....r50 or r53 or r52 s or non s?
A r50 has higher compression pistions than a r53....so results are very different.

According to the Bentley manual, it's between 131 and 196 psi with a difference of 7 psi between cylinders. Pretty vague to be honest about the margin, but who am I to argue with a book!

So when going "by the book", you're in the correct range, but the difference is off. But going by the 10% difference rule, you're fine. Your highest being 155, so 15.5 psi difference, which means that the lowest one must be higher than 139.5 psi.
