Short in Running/Fog Light? How to Trace?
The fog light (or running light) under the right headlight is not working. The yellow light (turn signal) works fine but the white light does not. Thinking it was simply a burned out bulb I popped the hood and took a look in there. I found out that a previous owner (or previous Mini service center) cut the wires going to the light. I ordered replacement parts and started reassembling things. Before crimping everything down and plugging the socket back in, I decided to check the light to be sure it works. No light. I decided to do a voltage test, which I should have done from the start.
It's getting not voltage in the wires. The left side, which works fine is getting 12 volts. I haven't checked fuses but since everything else seems to be working on the car I wouldn't think there is one fuse dedicated to this light. I don't have a wiring diagram. Any suggestions where to look?
If it makes any difference, in its previous life before I got it, the car had been in an accident where the rear end got hit. Any chance that a wire fro the front to the back had gotten cut?
