R60 Configuration to get full bank of toggle switches?
Configuration to get full bank of toggle switches?
Hey,
So I'm currently trying to decide between a 2014 Countryman, Paceman or Cooper Hardtop. The 0.9 APR and $750 credits on the former are swaying my decision to them since I can get a similarly spec'd car, but more space and I kind of prefer the 2nd generation interior.
Anyway, I was curious how to get a full bank of toggle switches in the Countryman (and Paceman for that matter) since they don't have rear fogs. What goes in that toggle switch space? In the hardtop the toggles are windows, locks and fog lights I believe.

From the 2014 CM Owners Manual they only explain four toggles yet show a graphic with five. I assume the missing toggle is for the non US rear fog light option.

Having test driven a few 2014 hardtops in manual: sport mode is on the ring for the shifter, window and lock controls are now on driver and passenger doors, front fog light switch has been moved to a panel lower left from the steering wheel.
The start/stop button is now a toggle in the middle of the dash toggle bank. According to the owners manual the following are located there as well; parking distance control, rearview camera, parking assistant, auto start/stop (gas saving measure), DCS, and heads up display.
So from the looks of it if one is OCD about a full toggle panel it is going to require an absolutely fully outfitted MINI.

I actually asked about every blank on the dash when I got my 2014 S. So the rear fog lights a European only option is what I was told for the toggles, I don't recall the additional button blank near the rear defogger, but the dealer told me when I asked on that also. So if you ask they should be able to tell you and if you can get the option in the US. Personally I would have liked to have even non functional buttons and toggles over gaps.
I just got back from the dealer and he said it was the auto start/stop that is unavailable in the US. Since rear fogs are also unavailable in the US, all that changes is the US fog light toggle is that it shows one light symbol while if it could be equipped with rear fogs it would show two light symbols. Annoying. :(
