Hi CynMini - I picked up Agrippa, my MCS, yesterday from BMW of Murray.
Spencer, my MA, was always somewhat behind me on developments in the MINI world, since I don't think he's ever really read the VAST amounts of info there is available online. I think perhaps Juan was, perhaps, somewhat more informed on the MINIs present and future, even though he was hired after I ordered at the end of January.
There was a litttle issue that I had to clear up concerning the rims, however. I had ordered my MCS with the standard 16" rims for a couple reasons, but after my build date came, I started to really track my MINI (who needs to be anxious an entire 5 months?) and noticed that somehow, my MCS was ordered with 17" S-Lites. When I brought it to his attention, he said that he'd make it up to me, and (I think) tried to placate me with some extras (e.g. a set of mats, and the $100 chrome grill which I was prepared to purchase on my own). I initially took it, but it kind of left me with a bad taste in my mouth - $600 extra for rims I didn't order.
Now, I don't know about you, but if an order had been botched like that, then I can assure you that were I a dealer, I'd order the right rims, have them waiting, and install them without the customer ever having to raise a fuss. Seeing as how 17" S-Lites are available as a dealer-installable option, then one has to assume that keeping a set around for a little while until someone wants them isn't going to kill me. Might make someone's day. But that's just me.
I decided to speak with the manager as my delivery date neared, and she was wonderful. I think she had a small chat with him (although he says he approached her), and I was offered a $600 rebate. I'm sure that stung a little, but it completely removed any reservations I had about taking the car. I'm really happy (although I'm looking for some 16" white rims now), and I'm rather glad that I ordered from them.
If you have any more questions, I'm happy to answer. I'll keep checking back here, or you can PM me.

I am on the Cooper S wait list (#30 at last check) at Murray and was told about six months for delivery. I dealt with Debbie and she told me we would spec the car when I get a production date. The caveat is to go over the specs with a fine tooth comb to make sure you get what you want. I know this is not as easy over the phone or via email. I have a trade that I will either sell privately or if that doesn't work, drive it to Utah to trade. I am not thrilled with driving the MCS back in the midst of winter. Anyone else here on the Murray wait list?

When I first went there to check out the minis, Spencer helped me and he was cool about it all. He said there is a wait, but he gave me hope telling me that they are always a bit early. Deal with him if possible. I went back later and talked to them and they said it was nearly a year wait! I don't blame them for that, but I was saddened and decided to take my business to Classic Mini and deal with the famous Julie! She's been excellent so far and my mini may be coming sooner than I am ready. A 2005 MCS by the way. Explore other options. Don't just expect to have to purchase from your closest dealer.
