A/C low charge from factory ?

It just started warming up and noticed my AC compared to my wifes 2011 is about 20F warmer, her's is like COLD and mines COOL. I suspect the factory did not fill up freon . Had a car like that years ago. I have 134A so will check the pressure and maybe add a 1/2 pound and see if it helps and stays.

Question is anyone else get a car like that new ?

My 2003 was like that. Better after I finally put in a small additional amount to
increase the low pressure side to the lower end of the usual range. I used the
temperature corrected gauge on the 134a dispenser that I used.

Don't add a 1/2 pound of refrigerant. The total charge in a MINI is only 400g (0.88 pounds).
That's for a gen 1 MINI. Not sure if it's any different for a gen 2.

I'll check my gauge, I could just have it taken in as warranty but the hassle aint worth it if the charge is just a tad low.

Ok I added about 2 oz and the outlet temp dropped from ~60 to ~45 , much better. The gauge showed it on the low end of the green scale now it's in the middle about right on the compensation number for ambient air temp of 80 .
