MA will try to escalate delivery

My red MSC has been confirmed on US soil, and since we're having guests Saturday afternoon, the MA will try to get delivery escalated to maybe Thursday or Friday -- depends on the trucker.

Will go out and wash and vacuum my VW CC (beautiful car!!) so there won't be any question about the trade-in value I was given.

So does that put it in Baltimore or somewhere else?

Mine arrived in Baltimore just a little bit ago, although about 11 hours later than originally planned, at least its here now. My MA said it takes about a week from arrival to get from baltimore to Louisville KY (its about a 9 hour drive). I'm not sure how long it takes at the port to be released (i've heard as little as 48 hours to as much as a couple weeks) but I'm hoping at least by friday so that it can head to KY over the weekend. Be nice to pick it up before I have to go out of town for work!

Hope you get yours when you expect it

Tell them to do better.

I'm hoping, and I know you are too, that these cars don't have to go thru the oil filter housing/gasket fix.

from what I understand my VIN is not affected. He told me that they clean it up (i'm guessing pull off the shipping plastic and wash it), give it another inspection, and update software.

to me that seems like a single day thing but.....

I'll be buggin him every day once I know its there, for now I'm watching the "track and trace" site to see when its listed as off loaded and passed through customs. then I'll call MINI to see if I can get shipping info and bug the heck out of the MA till I can pick it up. (squeaky wheel gets oiled concept)

He did it my MA did it!! Tomorrow afternoon I'll pick up my red MCS. Arrived in Georgia on 4/20, at the dealer late this afternoon, and I'll have it tomorrow -- not bad. I'm all set, my VW CC trade-in looks even cleaner than when I negotiated the MINI deal on 3/13.

Yeah, the husband's a car guy and just got a '13 or '14 Mustang that does 0-60 in 4+ seconds, but I'll bet my MCS will be more fun to drive. He's admired MINIs before, and I'll bet he'll be envious.

The VW's reliability reputation, like the MINI's, does not rank it with Toyotas and Hondas, but I had few problems -- replaced 3 bulbs in back in 1st year at my expense. The CC is a really good looking car -- even found a woman taking pictures of mine last year because of its looks. I expect MCS will also get some interest.

Torpeau,

You probably didn't get much sleep knowing your new Mini is waiting to be driven by its new owner! I ended up trading in my Jeep for the Mini rather than my CC because of the looks.

Have fun today and keep all of us informed of your first experiences with the F56.
