Anyone get their first oil change from the 3 year 36,000 mile boot to bonnet maintenance? My mini is just a tad under 5,000 miles and it says it isn't in need of an oil change for another 3,000 miles! I was just wondering who got their first oil change and at what mileage?

 

my OBC showed 9,000 miles when new, but counted down to 0 @ 7,000 actual miles

i changed oil/filter 3 times myself before that

the OBC showed 8,000 for the next change and 7,000 after that one

i change one time myself at 1/2 of the OBC countdown

 

I have an R56 but I paid for my first oil change at 5k and just had my second oil change at 10k which MINI paid for. The way me and my SA approach it is that MINI will take care of an oil change every 9k miles or at least once per year for low mileage drivers.

I don't really agree with MINIs service intervals for oil changes.

 

I got mine at 5800 miles after 1 year based on the on-board computer. If you check your computer it will suggest the change based on either mileage (9000) or date (about 1 year).

 

I had my first Mini covered oil change last month at 1700 miles because of the service date. It turned out to be the second oil change the car had (first was at 500 or so miles due to transmission replacement.)
