Countryman S - Video of my test-drive :)

Mini Countryman S - My Test Drive

I own a base 2009 Mini Cooper and I got this Countryman S for a day and here is the video of my short-drive. You can see the acceleration when changing lanes and passing the cars. The car definitely has the BMW handling and ride. The engine is powerful, but the car is also heavy. It weighs more than the regular Mini Cooper S and they share the same 1.6L turbocharged engine. I believe it would be much more fun with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Mini Cooper S is definitely faster than Mini Countryman S, but there is something about the suspension and the overall ride on the Countryman that makes it attractive. The cornering is really good; it absorbs the rough areas on the road and gives you more confidence in cornering because the car does not skip or hop. The 17" wheel/tire combination definitely helps with the handling. It is definitely a good car to take on canyon roads and have fun especially if you get the AWD model.

Thanks for watching and thanks for your feedback.

I have been cruising in my 2009 Mini Cooper and keep thinking about the Countryman S and the easy passing on the streets and freeways. Yes, the car is heavier than the regular Cooper S, but it is still very fast. If I am next to another car at the traffic light and I know need to get in front of it to change lanes and make a turn at the next intersection, I know I don't have to worry about that
