R60 Shipping information?
Shipping information?
It's been a little over a week since my countryman went into production, and I checked today on the owner's lounge, and it is now awaiting transport! As a result of some google searching, I followed the advice of some other posters in regards to tracking it but I feel as though some of that info is outdated. Does anyone know where I'd be able to check and see if my mini got on a ship? I'm in NY and on the WW website schedule, it says there was a ship leaving Southampton yesterday (3/23) and I feel like there may be a possibility my mini is aboard since before today, I hadn't checked the status since Friday so I'm not sure when it finished production. Does it take a day or two to update from awaiting transport to en route? There's another ship leaving 3/29, and it is probably more realistic that my mini will be on board that one. I'm just so excited (and, I admit, a bit impatient)!
It took mine 12 days after production to get on a ship. I had the best luck with checking the MINI customer service line. They told me he was on a ship a full day before the online status changed, and told me what ship as well. It is NOT on the line in the links, so I would not have been able to track it that way.
The venerable Countryman is assembled in Steyr Austria at a Magna factory under contract to BMW. It then goes by rail to the port of Bremerhaven in Germany. It will load there at a couple of facilities and maybe another port before stoping at Southhampton. Mine was on a line not manifested but I guessed the right ship since it went enroute about a day after the ship it was on sailed from Bremerhaven.
Note the next Countryman will go on line 2 at the Nedcar factory the Netherlands tooling to make the new hardtop.

Check out the posts in the 1st Gear area. It details how to locate your Mini and on what ship and shipping company. Once you locate the ship you can track on shipping sites.
