Upon placing my newly made cocomats on the floor of my new car, I noticed the black metals below the seat (what is holding the seat on both front seats) has some jelly or wax. I don't know Olof it is to lubricate it or to protect from rusting. It is colored white and looks like wax or petroleum . I am just curious if this is normal and was applied when the seats were attached or when they waxed the exterior of my car, or something. Never got my car cleaned inside too. I hope this isn't something that just happened for no reason.

Yes that's normal. It's grease to lubricate the seat adjustment tracks.

Metal parts that rub/slide get lube.....even some plastic parts... Heck...even some body parts!! Lol.
