Conventional Size Spare on non-S hatch

Hi All,

I've got a 2013 non-S hatch. The wheels/tires are 15 in, (175/65).
I was wondering if a conventional, full size spare (15inch) would fit in the bay that holds the mini-spare on a non-S Mini hatchback. I've never liked the "doughnut" spares and wouldn't mind getting an extra wheel and swapping it out.

Thoughts?

There isn't a "bay that holds the mini-spare on a non-S Mini hatchback". There is a recess that holds the tool kit but that's far too small for any spare. The non-S hatchback can carry a spacesaver spare in a holder under the boot/trunk floor, not inside.

Just s guess....
But going back to the mid 80's....
Most cars (aka non 4x4 truck/SUV) that have a compact spare looses about 4 inches of trunk space due to extra width when you put a full size rim/tire in...usually the carpet does not fit, etc....
Since so many mini's have wide rims....i'm thinking you could test it out.....when tires a fitted to exterior winch thinggys....makes me wonder about ground Cleareance....may be read the manuel.... Where Does it say to stash the flat? In the trunk or where the compact spare was stored?
Then again....I have found Thst a spare is kinda of a waste....I historically get a flat every 10 years at best....
Heck last few rentals I have rented (in the last 3 years or so) had regular tires....and an airpump/slime kit in the spot the spare would go in a styofoam holder that fit where the compact spare went....guess cell phone coverage is so widespread, and the risks of tire changing on the road to bad...spares are a thing of the past on many cars....

There is a bay or recess underneath the rear of the car that has a spare. I've seen it. But it's a mini spare. I'll just have to try to fit a regular wheel up in there. The wheel comes down, underneath and now through the floor of the trunk.

I haven't measured, but when I looked under there I didn't think that a full-size spare would fit. Too bad, it would have been nice to have one.

I think when I change over from winter to summer tires, I'll try fitting one under there and see what happens. If it fits, I'm getting an oem wheel and tire to put under there...
