I've been noticing a really weird sound at idle when I pull in my garage after a long drive. I just had my timing chain replaced last year and all maintenance is up to date. The noise sounds like a rattle or a squeak and goes away as soon as I give it a little gas. The car has 84k miles and hasn't thrown any fault codes. I've taken a video of what I hear. If anyone recognizes what it could be, let me know so I can have it looked in to. Thanks!

Maybe you've done this already, but check engine oil levels at least once a month or sooner. Usually chain rattling/slapping sound is due to low oil (from my experience)

Already checked oil levels and they're normal. The video I posted was after a 30 minute drive once the car was at full running temp too. I know the timing chain noises usually go away once the car warms up.

Bump. If anyone has any ideas of things to at least look into, that'd be good. I could go to the mechanic and say "I want whatever's causing this sound fixed," but I don't want to rack up hundreds of dollars worth of diagnostic fees and them not even find anything.

At 80,000 miles, what kinds of things should I be worried about?

I just had my timing chain replaced last year. Did yours idle like this even after it warmed up or only on cold starts?
