Well I just got off a disappointing conversation with my dealer and serial other dealerships. I ordered my MCS with a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel but when I received it, it only had a three spoke wheel. Does anyone know if there is a retro fit kit for this. I know there is one for the two spoke, Part# 65 71 0 029 494. If anyone knows of a dealer that has done it or if there is a kit available please let me know.

I know that there is a retrofit kit (Cruise control and audio controls) for the 2-spoke wheel but I am not sure there is one for the new 3 spoke wheel.


It seems to me that this could be a deal braker...can you just re-order the car elesehwere? I personally would not accept a MINI in the same exact way I ordered and much less so one without the MFSW controls which are a MUST in this car.


Just my humble opinion.

 

Take the car but have them order the correct wheel and replace it when it comes in.

If they won't or can't go elsewhere.

I ordered mine with rain sensing wipers and did not get them. I figured the car I wanted was built past that point for them already and I got it quicker so I took it.

well i already have the car and it was shipped cross country. So know im looking for place that can do it and they are suppose to pick up the bill.

Well, be very careful about who you allow to do this type of work. Make sure only a MINI dealer touches it because if anything goes wrong, the ball will fall in thier court.


Like I said, the 2 spoke wheel has a retrofit kit but I have not read or seen anything like that available for the 3 spoke wheel.


your best bet is to contact MINIUSA and your dealer and have them look into a retrofit kit, approved by MINI, for your 3 spoke wheel.


If you can't get the OEM kit, leave it alone as you will introduce unsuspecting problems if you attempt to install aftermarket retrofit kits.

Although I didn't buy my car there and haven't had any work done there either, Assael in Monrovia has been excellent to deal with on ordering parts and answering questions. I intend to give them a try in the next week or so on working on my Z3.
