Greetings, All:

It is my understanding that the newer 2004's (mine is about a month old) aren't compatible with the current Magnaflow exhausts due to the hangers (or something along those lines). Is this true? Are they planning on a new Magnaflow system to combat this problem? Lastly, is there any other exhaust that would currently work?

Any good exhaust shop or adventurous buyer can remedy this problem.

There are a couple pictorals of the difference int he hangers that is pretty easily rectified with some welding prowess.

I heated the hangers up with a torch (not propane - not hot enough) and used a big wrench to bend them. But then they were too close (as int he distance between the hangers on the chassis and the difference between them on the exhaust was not right, so i had to bend them out a bit too.

Took 30 minutes tops.

 

hi, I think that Borla had the same problem and fixed it, try calling a vendor that sells the Magnaflow, they have to know. I have the Borla "race", no problem with hangers. good luck!
