I have just brought my MCS to a shop to have the short shifter installed. Does anyone with the helix SS experience a clicking sound right before you slot the lever into a gear? Say from neutral to 1st, 1st to 2nd, etc. Or even pushing the lever up and down while in gear a light click is heard. Anyone know where this is coming from? Anyone know a solution?

Mine has a little bit of a mechanical sound when shifting, but only slightly more noticable than stock. I would not charactorize it as a click though. Did the shop indent the heat shield to clear the lever extension as called for in the instructions?

What year is your MCS? You might have the wrong short shift adapter. My 04 actually has the 03 shifter, so it caused some confusion when I got the part.
