R50/53 Dead battery + cold weather = broken A pillar trim
Dead battery + cold weather = broken A pillar trim
I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else. I did some searching on the board and most of the problems have to do with the trim pieces blowing off.
Anyways, just a warning. If you have a dead battery and it's cold outside (below freezing) be careful when closing the doors. If the battery is dead enough to not retract the window upon opening the door, it may crack the plastic outer trim on the A pillar when closing the doors. It just happened to me this morning. I'm lucky that it was the trim, and not the glass, but I'm still feeling unlucky about the whole ordeal. And, I'm soon down $60 bucks for a new piece unless I feel like super gluing the busted chunk back into place.
