Motoramic/Yahoo: A car dealer’s scientific guide to the 10 worst used vehicles
Quality is something we all want when it comes to cars, especially older used ones. But how do we get it?
I have been studying this question in one form or another for nearly 14 years now. I began my automotive career as a car dealer, buying and selling hundreds of vehicles a year. As time went on, I became an auto auctioneer, a remarketing manager and a part-owner of a wholesale auto auction.
...[blah blah blah]
So what out there is truly low quality? As far as those cars with the highest defect level at trade-in time, here are the 10 worst:
10. Volkswagen New Beetle ...
9. Mazda 626 ...
8. Lincoln Aviator ...
7. Jaguar S-Type ...
6. Lincoln LS ...
5. Mazda Millenia ...
4. Land Rover Discovery ...
3. Mini Cooper (Bad transmissions that are unusually expensive to replace. Cheap interior parts. Cheap hydraulics.)
2. Land Rover Freelander ...
...
1. Mazda CX-7 ...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For starters, Yahoo is bottom of the media credibility pile.
Cheap interior parts? Really?!?!? All other cars in this class look like crap.
Otherwise, I know our precious cars have issues.

I'm agree with you 100%, I've not just read the whole article but all links about quality index and other stuff.<br />
Yes, yahoo news as well as yahoo mail are on the bottom of respectful categories. Also, yahoo is infested with different kind of spyware cookies even more than google news and mail sites!
I have never considered yahoo as reliable source of information, period!
It kinda makes me proud to see the long heritage of my country (Britain) upheld by having four vehicles in this list, although it is a bit embarassing that Mazda could build a worse car than us.
Land Rover Freelanders and Discoveries get similar slagging here as really badly-built vehicles, but they are a booming sales success both here and internationally. "Go figure", I believe you say....
