R50/53 Window Tinting
Got mine done and it looks great.
One thing though; do not tint the sunroof if you got one. My tint shop said it will cause the factory tint in the sunroof to fight the aftermarket tint causing the glass to heat up to much and possibly shatter. I find it hard to believe but that's what he told me and I've read that on prior posts here and on MINI2.

>>Has anyone had there windows tinted? Any advice would be good, are all packages about the same?
Hi
I have my windows tinted at 35% (the max in TN). Can't imagine a TN summer without them!
You can see a picture in the "members minis" gallery. Page 70 (MiniPearl) RedMCS with bonnet(white) stripes and sunroof

Ditto on checking the tinting link, above. All packages are NOT the same - best to stick with 3M brand film, otherwise you may get bubbles or peeling. Should look real sharp on the back 3 windows - good luck!

Desert MINI in Las Vegas put tinting on as part of the $2500 in forced extras. Seeing how it looks (and having had many favourable comments) and with the weather here, I think I would get it again in a heartbeat.
