For those of you with the factory alarm, quick question.

Had the dealer install the retrofit factory alarm yesterday. They said they checked it all out, and everything was working as should.

My question is how does the ultrasonic sensors work? I've activated the alarm, and placed my hand all the way inside the car, even waving it in front of the sensors and nothing happens. Also how sensitive is the tilt sensor? I've had 2 of us try rocking the side to side to get it to go off and nothing. Guess I could try jacking it up lol.

i have the factory alarm. . . never really tested how sensitive it is. . . other than if I leave the sunroof tilted open (or just open) it will always go off before I get back to the car - always

It is good to know that the motion sensor can be disabled by clicking the lock button twice

To test the interior sensor you leave the windows rolled down and set the alarm by pressing the lock button 1 time. Then wait at least 30 seconds before doing anything. After 30 sec you should be able to reach into the car and set off the alarm.
If you press the lock button 2 times when you lock the car that will disable the tilt and interior sensors.
the alarm uses the first 30 sec after setting the alarm to detect the shape of the interior incase you have left large items in the car.
