I need hard parts for a transmission

I know this is the wrong place to ask but it was suggested to put a post here also to get some more looks. Here is my story.

My kid had a catastrophic clutch failure in my car. Don't ask, he is learning tons about cars right now. We removed the trans because it wouldn't go into reverse at all. After we got the trans out the clutch material had completely come from the disc. I went off on him about it since to me that kind of stuff just doesn't happen. He tried to limp the car home like that. After opening up the transmission, apparently in his trying to force it into reverse, the reverse gear is not lining up with the syncro properly. It is "wallerd' out a bit. Its only maybe a millimetre but is enough to make it not drop into gear when the shift fork is pushing it down.

Anyway, long story short. I know there are many people that track these cars and break all kinds of pieces of these transmissions. I honestly doubt anyone has had reverse die on a tracked transmission. I am hoping there is someone that has a set lying about that I can buy from them. It would be a whole lot better than making him come up with a ton of money to buy a new transmission.

Does anyone know where or who may have one for me, thanks

Oh, this occurred to me since I responded in the other thread. Way is both a supplier of parts and a repair shop. Perhaps you could give him a call. There's at least a chance he has a part laying around.

Thanks , I have been in contact with them. I asked them for some internal parts and they said they aren't available.

I am hoping they didn't understand exactly what I was asking. I'll call them Monday

one tip...
on these cars, the same parts are often used by other makes with MINOR changes...
on the older gen1 cars, the auto tranny was used in many Toyoda's and VW's....
Some research might yield a car the tranny is used in and a make that sells the parts new...
Other option might be to buy a used tranny..maybe a blown one....
WayMotorWorks often parts out wrecked cars...he might have a tranny that had a case broken in a crash you could buy and take the parts out of....

I've not ever seen parts or a manual for rebuilding the transmission in these cars. The internals are just a Getrag unit though. The SVT focus used the same trans so might be some help there. Your best bet though is to just find a used box. Even if you could find internals you wouldn't have any specs to go about rebuilding the box. Not to mention difficulty in finding new bearings/races.

Yep, just bite the bullet and find a used transmission.

Oh, and the term you were trying for is 'wallowed' out...

As stated, there are no internal trans parts or rebuilding info available.
