JCW US Spec Countryman JCW with QuickSilver Exhaust
US Spec Countryman JCW with QuickSilver Exhaust
So, at long last, a video of my Countryman JCW with its Performance Exhaust fitted. This was the first Countryman JCW system shipped by QuickSilver, who are fancy British exhaust manufacturer.
It connects after the down pipe, removing the second cat (which is not monitored, so no CEL problems), the resonator, and the rear muffler. It replaces all of that with a single, centre mounted muffler and a free-flowing straight through system. Sounds minimalist, but it's perfectly legal.
The good news: it's awesome. Louder. More raspy. And best of all, it pops and crackles. It's also half the weight of the standard system, saving 29lb.
I've made a video of it here:

You can see it on the QuickSilver site here:

The bad news: It's too much for my wife. Turns out she doesn't share my love of raspy exhausts when it's a car she has to drive. So, the exhaust is coming off.
That means it's up for grabs if anyone wants it. I'm in no rush. It comes off on Tuesday. I'm in San Francisco, so it could be collected, or I could ship it.
The exhaust has been on the car for 300 miles. The car itself that it's on has only done 680 miles, so the system is absolutely as new. It cost me $1600. For sale at $1000.
And before you ask, I have no idea what shipping will cost. I'll figure that once it's off next week. :-)
