Clutch Replacement

I need to replace my clutch.... I am reluctant to replace the disk/pressure plate with OEM since it failed at 64K. Is there another combo that works and last longer with the OEM flywheel (yes.... I am replacing that also). I do not want to switch the flywheel as my reading of the Stock Solo class rules implies I cannot.

Flywheel is a no-no for Solo Street rules.

As for clutch... If it's aftermarket (say Exedy) it MUST be an OEM replacement or OEM equivalent.

Even if the clutch offers 20% more clamping force, it's technically illegal.

That was my impression reading the rules... I am having my mechanic put the OEM Mini stuff back in even though I hate to do it. I am also seriously considering selling the R56 while it still has good value. After spending almost 6K on repairs this year.... it is a real leap of faith to continue ownership.

Yes anything non OEM is illegal.

Make sure you replace the clutch fork at the same time:

How often are these dual-mass flywheels needing to be replaced in the R56S application?

I wish we had a G60 "upgrade" like the MK4 guys do; cheaper and light. The SCCA can suck it. I run for time only anyways.
