SMF (Street Modified FWD) where to get 15x8 4x100 36-38et?
Ok,
I have read the posts, and found that 15x8 4x100 36-38 et rims with Hoosier 225/45 seems to be the best possible rim tire combo. But alas who makes the rim that will do this? And are there any sources that I can get these cheaper? We may finally have to do a racing FAQ. And of course, If anyone can give me a reason that I could use my 16x7.5 ssr comps instead of 15x8 whatevers, that will be welcome. But I think my offset is wrong to fit 225 on the SSRs, so I would have to use 205's and loose like .7 inches in width.

I know speed ain't cheep, but I am trying to avoid getting crushed. Tirerack.com doesn't show the offsets and it doesn't list a 15x8 inch in anything. Ebay, no 15x8 unless I have a durango, panasport will make pretty much anything but, ca-chinge for custom made british rims with the nasty exchange rate.
1st off, you would need a 28mm offset, not a 38mm offset for an 8" wheel on a MINI.
2nd, it has to be custom. 15x8's are rare enough, and to find a fitment for a MINI will be even harder.
Russ Blume in his E30 was running a non-custom 15x8 last year, but I've never been able to find something in my search for a MINI.
Kodiak would be a good source, and you'd pay about $300/wheel and they'd weigh around 10lbs.
Lastly, the tire would stick out about 25mm or 1 inch beyond the fender flare. So as long as you didn't go TOO low, you'd be fine.
Otherwise, you're on the right track and I'd fully agree with your size choices and tires.
I'm sure we'd all love to see pics when you get it done!

My 15x8 4x100 wheels. ET on these is 18mm but others are available I believe. Not the lightest wheels you'll find but they are an option. I bought them from:

ah, I read the g-man's post incorrectly, I was thinking 15x8 with 36-38 et was the best but that et only applied to the common 15x7 rim. This could be a bit more interesting than I thought. I am going to have to measure my SSRs at 16x7.5 and find the ET and clearances. Thanks yall, the racing section is getting better by the day.
Have you looked at the ATS DTC Competition wheels? They're relatively light (14.1 lbs) and come in the 15x8 in 20mm and 30mm offsets. Discount tire used to be able to special order them at only $110 each + tax (no shipping), but have since discontinued their relationship with ATS. They're called Comp Lites here in the states, but that's a cheap wheel in the fitment size you're looking for. Some BMW shops carry them too and I saw a post on one of the Miata boards about a recent purchase of these wheels too.
