Front Hub- Wheel Bearings

I think I'm starting to get some noise out of my left front wheel bearing. When I load it up a little in a right curve I get a vibrational sound\feeling. Nothing from the other wheel on a left hander.

Is it acceptable to change just one side? Do I go with original MINI part, NTN or NSK? Part number 31226776162 There is a difference in cost. Thanks for your opinions!

Changing just one side is fine. Aftermarket tends to be decent but not quite as long lasting as OEM. If you're planning on keeping the car for another 100k miles it's probably more cost effective to go OEM in the long run.

You can do just one side at a time if you like, I recommend to do both at the same since you be doing the same job twice. I had one side go bad before then the other side went a month later. Quick tip : When the wheel bearing is just going bad you turn the wheel depending on what side the wheel bearing is on; you will hear its growl when you turn the wheel ( while driving of course ). So on the right ( passenger side ) turn left and you It will get loader , you turn right , it get quieter ( unless its totally shot ). Vice versa for the other side.

The bearings are all about the same, at least the ones we carry mentioned above. It depends on what budget you are looking at. I have used MINI, NTN, NSK, etc in the past with no problems. Its what you prefer.

We have kits with the hardware because they can get really rusty like the 4 rear bolts.

Good luck with the repair and hope that helps.

I agree if you can afford to replace both sides at one time I would go that route.. I only replaced the side that was bad ..but about a month later the other side went bad.. So my guess a rule of thumb here is if one side is bad...the other side is probably not far behind... good luck!

Save your money and just do the one you need, and IF the other fails you can do it at that time.
We keep them in stock if you need.
