I know use the search option but I'm to tired to do it so here is the question......

For all you tire guru's. I recently bought a set of the five spoke MINI wheels. They are 16" and the stock tire size that comes with them is a 195/55/16. I want to put on a set of 205/45VR16 Yokohama Parada Spec-2. So the question is will they fit on this rim?? And if they do will it be a concern for auto-xing?? I got a great deal on the rims and I don't care about weight, just will the tire stay on the rim during hard cornering??? Thanks all.....

I wouldnt. Tires.com will tell you for sure what tires will fit. The R84's are a 6.5" rim.

Bruce,

Go for it! I have 215/45/16 Falken Azenis on a set of V-spokes and they work great! I use them for autocross and have not had any problems whatsoever with the size.

205's should be just fine.

Shouldn't be a problem. The sidewalls might roll a bit because of the wider tire, but I don't think you're pushing the size envelope. Post pics when they're mounted

The R83 5 spoke rim is 16x6.5"
The stock runflat tire is
195/55-16 with 87V load rating, max load 1202 pounds, fits rims 5.5-7" and exactly on 6" outer diam 24.4"
vs
205/45-16 with 83V load rating, max load 1074 pounds, fits rims 6.5-7.5" and exactly on 7" outer diam 23.3"

You you gain on width of the tire but loose some due to the narrow rim which barely fits which lessens the effect of the 45 series sidewall. Max load is reduced 128 pounds for each tire- this totals 512 pounds less which means if you are alone autocrossing then it would be OK. The outer diameter is smaller by 1.1"

An alternative would be to go with a different size tire like 205/50-16 and not with the Parada Spec-2.
205/50-16 with 83V load rating, max load 1074 pounds, fits rims 5.5-7.5" and exactly on 6.5" outer diam 24.1"
Possible tires in this size-
Bridgestone Potenza S-03
Toyo Proxes T1-S
Toyo Proxes 4
Toyo Proxes Fz4
Falken Ziex ZE-512
Yokohama AVS ES100

For the price I think the Falken Azenis Sport is a good choice for street /autocross but it really has limited sizes.
215/45-16 is good but best for a 16x7 rim not 6.5" since the rim width range is 7-8" with 7 being perfect, outer diameter is 23.5" which is fine.

They will fit fine. I'm running 205/45/16's Kumho V700's on my SSR 6.5x16's. I'm not sure how much sidewall flex those tires have. You my have to pump the pressures up in the front. I'm running 50 psi in the front and 45 in the rear. These pressures have also been the same when running Hoosiers.

205/45/16 is short for a street tire, 205-50 is a better choice!
