Airbag weight sensor
Airbag weight sensor
The airbag light on my 2006 Cooper S went off. The dealer said it was a faulty passenger seat airbag weight sensor. $1186.00 to repair.
Rather than have them do the labor I purchased the new seat bottom (the only way to get a new sensor) for $650.00. $550 is the best price I found on line (but they were out of stock). It is actually quite easy to install the new seat bottom for any of thise willing to try....
The airbag light is still on.
Here is the question: Will the light turn itself off eventually, or do I need to buy a special airbag light reset tool to turn it off myself, or do I need to go to the dealer to have them turn it off?
Thanks.
