I have not seen many with this wheel. 5 days in one of the caps is missing. I guess a couple of questions. Anyone else lose a center cap? Is this common at all or you think someone helped themselves to one?

More important how do I replace it? MINI barely has the part in their system let alone a price or any idea how to order. Any thoughts or after market ideas? Call higher up MINIUSA and ask when they plan on selling this part?

Here is a bad picture I took of the wheel with the cap. I should have taken one with the cap missing as a reference but it is the black and gray piece, not just the little center with MINI on it.

It's listed in RealOEM, so I can't see why your dealer can't order one - it shows as about $15 in Britain, Mind you, there are several colour combinations so they would need to use your car to order it correctly.



RealOEM Twin Spoke

Most Mini centre caps are a struggle to get off, so I'm inclined to think it didn't 'fall off' on its own.....

 

I have the twin blade wheels and the center cap is the same design although trimmed in silver to match the twin blade wheels whereas yours appears chrome. I just had all four of mine off to PlastiDip the wheels and I can tell you that there is an alignment of cap and wheel that has to take place or the caps could easily come off. If things are aligned properly the caps are secure.

Have the wheels been off for any reason like tire rotation or total wheel cleaning?

If not, you may be correct that someone else needed a wheel cap and helped themselves to yours.

Also, check Realoem.com for a possible part number and price.

 

Thank you! I was able to confirm the part as 36136865685 which is one of the items on RealOEM with no part price. None of the "part 4" seem to have a price so I am not sure what that means.

Either way it is a real part and I guess I am left working on MINI to find out how to get one. Heck I wish I knew what "DAMSON RED" was like maybe add a bit of color while I was at it.

Good and a bummer they don't pop off easy. Car is a week old. Garage to work mostly so far. Wonder where the heck the cap was taken.

#4 Looks like the black with high class gray as the ring.

It the caps are not snapped in all the way on , let say a tire rotation they can pop out, You can take one of and look for the alignment notch. Some press in center caps for MINI have this to align.

On the back of the cap it should have a couple numbers, just to make sure. Same part number for all 4 caps. Looks like # 36136865685 which is not available yet. If that's the number on the cap you can get another black cap, then change out the the center ring to one of the ray line sets to match

There are sets of 4 in the Ray line that is available if you are looking to change the center portion and get some color. These are the center portion of the center cap.

Thank you. Yep I pulled a center cap off at lunch and I see what you mean about alignment. # 36136865685 is indeed the part number.

I like the Ray line idea but not the color choices. I was hoping to match the Chili red. Or get close. Thanks everyone. I guess I need to wait out the part being available.

You have to have them aligned on there correctly or they can pop off. There should be a little circle wire at the base.

36136865685 not available yet. But the Ray line series trims are, but you would have to cover over another color that's available with black as the main color to match the wheel.

Here is another option:

The "Damson red" is from the MINI Hampton edition and is available if you want to switch all four to that. No Chili red at this point in that style.
